The role:

We're on the lookout for a Product Specialist to take ownership of Halter's product and associated development projects across New Zealand. This role can be based at either Halter's Auckland HQ or our R&D office in Morrinsville, with regular nationwide travel required (approximately 50% of your time). You'll work closely with our Product, Engineering and R&D teams, as well as farmers across the country, to ensure the Halter product is delivering undeniable value.

Halter is one of the world's fastest-growing agritech companies, and the most transformative technology available in pasture-based grazing. With Halter's collars and app, farmers can virtually fence and shift their animals, as well as proactively monitor their locations and behaviour.

We are looking for big thinkers who know how to get stuff done. We're looking for natural problem-solvers who are comfortable working in a dynamic, high-energy environment where they'll be challenged daily. Our ideal person is someone committed to deeply understanding our product and our customers' needs. Above all else, you'll care about our customers, their animals, and champion their interests across Halter.

Please note: This role involves significant nationwide travel, approximately 50% of the time, regardless of whether you're based in Auckland or Morrinsville.

What your day could look like
  • Working closely with our Product and Engineering teams, providing input and feedback to ensure Halter is focused on the most important priorities and building what our farmers truly need.

  • Leading projects that enable continuous product innovation and development, from initial design and planning through to execution and completion.

  • Sharing in-depth knowledge and insights about New Zealand farming systems, animal behaviour and virtual fencing across Halter.

  • Partnering with our Business Development, Account Management and R&D teams to maintain strong alignment between product development and customer needs.

  • Thinking critically about the end-to-end product experience, proactively identifying opportunities to improve outcomes for farmers and their animals.

  • Working closely with strategic customers across New Zealand to ensure they are fully utilising the Halter product and receiving maximum value.

  • Supporting on-farm product testing, research trials and virtual fencing implementation across New Zealand.

  • Travelling nationwide to work directly with farmers, gather insights and bridge the gap between product development and real-world application.

  • Taking on other tasks and initiatives as needed to support Halter's continued growth and success.

What we are looking for
  • A genuine interest in agritech, strong technical curiosity and a willingness to understand the finer details of Halter's product and technology.

  • Hands-on farming experience is essential, along with a passion for animals and the future of farming.

  • A phenomenal attitude and a collaborative, team-first approach, with the ability to consistently overcome challenges.

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, conducting research trials or supporting product development initiatives.

  • A fast learner who is motivated to work hard, take initiative and contribute to a team doing things that have never been done before.

  • Proven ability to think critically, solve complex problems and develop innovative, practical solutions.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy, resilience and comfort with ambiguity.

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively throughout New Zealand (approximately 50% of the time), including occasional weekend work and international travel when required.

  • Above all, a 'get stuff done' attitude!

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
