About This Role

In a world where consumers interact with brands across dozens of touch points—from social media and websites to in-store visits and email campaigns—most retailers are flying blind. They're making marketing decisions based on fragmented data and gut instinct, never truly knowing who their customers are, what drives them to buy and how to communicate with them 1:1.
At Lexer, we're on a mission to change that. We believe every brand deserves to genuinely Know Your Customer, and we're building the AI-powered platform that makes it possible.

As Product Manager, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how marketers work through AI-driven insights and automation. You're not just building features—you're crafting the tools that turn scattered customer data into crystal-clear understanding, enabling marketers to predict behavior, personalize experiences, and drive customer lifetime value. This is your chance to help reshape an entire industry, where every product decision you make has the potential to unlock millions in revenue for the world's most innovative retailers.

What makes this role exciting:
  • Technical depth meets business impact: You'll work directly with data engineers and platform architects while driving measurable revenue outcomes
  • Customer-centric innovation: Direct access to mid-market retail customers to validate problems and solutions
  • Platform ownership: End-to-end responsibility from customer discovery through technical delivery and business results
  • Fast-moving environment: Join a SaaS company with ambitious growth plans and real product-market fit

You'll follow our proven 5-phase approach: Discovering (customer & market insights) → Designing (platform solutions & UX) → Building (technical delivery) → Launching (go-to-market & enablement) → Measuring (outcomes & optimization).

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Conducting customer interviews to understand core problems and ideal solutions.
  • Collaborating with software development teams on technical architecture, API design, and integration patterns.
  • Managing product roadmaps that balance new capabilities, technical debt, and customer feedback.
  • Partnering with product marketing on competitive positioning and technical differentiation.
  • Monitoring SaaS metrics including adoption rates, customer health scores, and revenue impact.
  • Driving go-to-market success through product-led growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent professional experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years overall experience building and/or bringing SaaS products to market, including 3+ years as a product manager.
  • Technical fluency is a must. Direct experience with customer data platforms, marketing automation, data integration, APIs, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics platforms is a huge plus.
  • Customer fluency is a must. Proven experience working directly with end-user customers to bring new products and capabilities to market. Deep empathy for customer problems, and customer advocacy, are required. Direct experience with marketing teams as end users, understanding omnichannel customer journeys, marketing attribution, and campaign orchestration is a huge plus.
  • Demonstrated success launching complex technical products from concept to market with measurable business impact, including evangelising products and capabilities in B2B sales and marketing contexts.
  • Direct experience in agile software development including hands-on ownership of product roadmaps and user stories.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting SaaS metrics, customer usage data, and platform performance indicators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities: must effectively interact with technical teams, marketing stakeholders, our customers, and executive leadership
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing technical priorities in fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Experience with: market assessment for technical products, platform roadmapping and technical prioritization, API and integration strategy, SaaS pricing and packaging models, customer success metrics and churn analysis.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
