IN A NUTSHELL
We're obsessed with creating products that people love using and will continue to do so for a long time. Since launching our first six wallets 14 years ago, we've expanded to release 50+ new products annually across various categories, each thoughtfully designed and carefully engineered. We're growing and searching for a Product Development Engineer who can help us keep innovating without compromising on what matters.
As an integral member of our growing product development team, you’ll focus on our wallets, pouches, and tech accessory ranges. You’d work to take drawings and concepts from our Design team, refining and engineering them in order to bring them into the physical world. When you receive a new design, you'll need a hands-on approach (think 3D CAD, printing, testing and prototyping) and will be responsible for shaping it into something practical, realistic and production-friendly, all while maintaining its original integrity and character.
Bring us your practical expertise, desire for improvement and problem-solving mind. In return, we’ll provide you with stretch goals, the chance to develop products you are proud of and an award-winning company culture to be a part of.
YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU…
- Have 2-4 years of hands-on product development or design engineering experience, where you've focused more on the technical and manufacturing challenges than pure design (bonus points for moulded goods experience)
- Love getting your hands dirty in the lab - prototyping, testing, and hacking things apart to understand how they work, believing that the best solutions come from doing rather than just theorising
- Want to be part of a long-term product journey, where you can see your work through from idea to market, learn from real user feedback, and improve products over multiple iterations
- Are skilled in 3D CAD, injection moulding, and 3D printing, with experience taking products from concept through to manufacturing
- Bring working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and technical software, paired with genuine curiosity about new manufacturing technologies and methods
- Can manage complex projects and deadlines while maintaining strong documentation - you're the type who creates clear processes so things only need to be done once
- Thrive in collaborative environments where you can bounce ideas off teammates and grow together
- Can communicate clearly with people from all backgrounds (you’ll be interacting a lot with our overseas manufacturers so mandarin fluency would be a welcome bonus!)
IF YOU WERE HERE LAST MONTH YOU MIGHT HAVE…
- Collaborated with the Product Design team to explore a stitchless wallet concept, brainstorming ways to bring it to life
- Conducted an FMEA assessment on a project to identify high risk areas to focus on during product development
- Developed drawings and 3D models for the tooling we might need and incorporating feedback from your manager to refine designs
- Used our fully kitted out lab to proof-out the tooling and product construction process
- Created a reliability test plan tailored to a new product
- Recognised an outdated packaging SOP, revised it to align with current practices, and shared it with relevant suppliers and warehouses
- Conducted research on improving the coating durability on some of our metal hardware
- Fine-tuned a camera opening on one of our phone cases to meet DFM requirements for injection moulding and assembly whilst maintaining the original design intent
- Jumped on a call with our suppliers in China and suggested improvements after reviewing development samples
- Integrated insights from customer service and returns data to engineer solutions for the next generation of products, with a focus on durability in high-stress areas
