About the role .

Due to an internal promotion, we are now recruiting for a Procurement Director, who willbe responsible for the overall procurement function for Australia and New Zealand. This role provides thought leadership and strategy to the team operating in country as well as ensuring the procurement department is fit for purpose, meeting the needs of the business. The Procurement Director will have an ability to realize significant wins for the business and help to shape the function while also establishing best practices regionally and globally.

  • Owns the overall ANZ sourcing and contracting strategy for all categories (direct, indirect and freight & logistics) with a total annual spend exceeding $600m
  • Drive overall cost optimisation for ANZ
  • Lead senior stakeholder relationships - linking business needs to procurement goals
  • People and organisational leadership - provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
  • Lead, control and drive improvement in the sourcing process for ANZ
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Ensure overall supply risk management process are in place to ensure continuous and reliable supply of goods and services
  • Lead commodity risk profile and hedging strategy to minimize risks and protect profit margin
  • Lead and manage a team of 10 procurement professionals
  • Key member of the ANZ Senior Leadership Team
  • Manage budgets for overall ANZ procurement

About you .
Experience:

  • At least 10 years of procurement experience in leadership roles
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale spending and influence financial decision-making at the executive level
  • Extensive experience in the FMCG industry (essential)
  • A track record of implementing best-in-class procurement processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies that drive cost savings, efficiency, and long-term value creation
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams, mentoring and developing talent


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree is required, ideally in a business/economic/supply chain discipline


Skills:

  • Highly skilled in decision-making, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and juggle multiple competing priorities effectively
  • Exceptional influencing, collaboration, and communication skills to align and engage stakeholders effectively
  • Results-driven and process improvement-focused with a strong propensity for excellence.
  • Possesses the presence, intellect, energy, drive, interpersonal skills, and business acumen needed to excel
  • Proficient in analyzing data and market insights and transforming them into compelling, clear, and actionable narratives
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a willingness to challenge the status quo
