As a Process Improvement Consultant, you will lead hands-on, end-to-end transformation initiatives across business, operations, and technology. You will take ownership from problem definition through to implementation, adoption, and measurable outcomes.

Working cross-functionally, you will redesign and uplift critical processes to align with new technology capabilities. The focus is on building processes that are scalable, efficient, and resilient, while ensuring improvements are embedded and owned by the business.

This is a visible role with direct impact on how the organisation operates. The role offers a high degree of autonomy to ensure new systems are supported by fit-for-purpose processes that enable growth, strengthen resilience, and improve operational performance.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract role to be based in Melbourne.

    • Uplift organisational capability through training, workshops, and coaching on process thinking and sustainable improvement practices
    • Define success metrics, track benefits realisation, and ensure alignment with governance, risk, and delivery frameworks
    • Communicate progress, insights, and risks clearly to senior stakeholders, providing visibility across the broader transformation program

About you

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end process improvement initiatives in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Strong background in business and operational process optimisation, ideally within technology-enabled or platform-based organisations
  • Hands-on experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and/or BPM methodologies in practical, real-world settings
  • A delivery-focused, “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset, comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and organisational complexity with a structured, disciplined approach
  • Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops, training sessions, and collaborative problem-solving forums
  • Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders
  • Experience driving governance, planning, and risk management across transformation initiatives
  • Passion for continuous improvement, with the ability to coach and uplift capability across teams
  • Experience delivering change across multiple phases of a transformation lifecycle (advantageous)

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
