We are a growing team within the bank and constantly involved in industry changing solutions
You will be part of an innovative environment with likeminded individuals
Together we can place customers at the centre of what we do
Do work that matters
We're building tomorrow’s bank today, which means we need creative and diverse engineers to help us redefine what customers expect from a bank. Envisioning new technologies that are still waiting to be invented and reimagining products that support our customers and help build a brighter future for Australia.
Here, you’ll get to turn your passion into reality, working with new technology on state-of-the-art projects to enable a seamless and unrivalled customer experience.
See yourself in our team
You will be part of a team building the next generation of the banks customer data platform. As a Principal Platform Engineer, you’ll be a senior technical leader enabling other engineers to build, deploy, and operate software reliably and securely on our platforms.
You will shape the technical strategy for platform capabilities, drive the design and implementation of scalable, observable, and secure infrastructure, and champion engineering excellence across the organisation. Your work will ensure our platforms are resilient, performant, and easy to use—empowering teams to deliver value faster and safer.
We’re interested in hearing from people who:
Are strategic thinkers who collaborate with senior leaders to evolve platform engineering practices and drive adoption across domains.
Have deep experience in building and operating internal developer platforms, with a focus on automation, self-service, and reliability.
Lead the design and delivery of platform tooling using Agile methodologies, with a strong foundation in cloud-native technologies.
Possess excellent debugging and incident response skills, capable of resolving complex issues across distributed systems.
Communicate clearly and influence effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor and coach engineers to grow their platform engineering capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills Required:
This is a highly technical role requiring deep expertise across platform engineering disciplines. You’ll be a great fit if you have experience in:
Strong expertise in AWS and cloud-native architectures
Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, with a focus on automation, reliability, and developer experience.
Proficiency in Bash, Python, and Golang for building platform tools, automation scripts, and infrastructure components.
Deep experience with containerised environments, especially using ECS and EKS, including orchestration, scaling, and lifecycle management.
In-depth knowledge of observability tooling such as Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and CloudWatch, with the ability to design and implement monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions.
Strong understanding of platform security principles, including secure-by-design practices, identity and access management, and automated compliance controls.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering teams, influence platform adoption, and mentor peers.
