NTT DATA is looking for a Principal: Employee Experience and Internal
Communications to join our growing People & Culture team.
The Principal: Employee Experience & Internal Communications is responsible for developing and executing internal communications, leadership and / or employee engagement programmes, culture and change initiatives, and transformation communications in support and alignment to business strategy and priorities.

What you'll be doing

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the assessment of our current employee and leadership engagement and implement communication initiatives that will maintain and increase engagement, satisfaction, employer advocacy, client service excellence and ultimately sustainable business performance and growth.
  • Develop an integrated Internal Communications plan aligned to the function and organisation's strategic priorities and for all relevant audiences/stakeholders.
  • Implement employee and leadership-facing campaigns and champion employees’ and leader perspectives in the execution of those.
  • Provide input into the overall approach to employee and leadership engagement and experience and maintain and/or develop tools, and solutions to measure effectiveness.
  • Champion storytelling through the organisational network to ensure that organisation strategy is brought to life, reinforcing the brand, purpose, vision, values and Employee Value Proposition, helping to position NTT DATA as a great place to work.
  • Provide input into and support the communication of the strategic People & Culture initiatives and process such as onboarding, learning and development, tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate with peers in People & Culture and marketing-related areas and in the business on intersecting initiatives, and to drive strategic and/or change communications.
  • Support the listening strategy with relevant communications related to the key listening moments (surveys and other) and contributing to the employee engagement and IC measurement strategy and framework.
  • Lead the implementation of initiatives to deliver on the employee experience and internal communication approach, through collaboration with peers, the employee experience network, People & Culture and other NTT DATA OpCos and interlock effectively with other functions to ensure an integrated end-to-end approach.
  • Promote and support initiatives related to our Recognition Schemes.

Tactical execution:

  • Maintain the leadership and employee engagement and annual internal communications plan for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Manage the scheduling and planning process to align activities and strategic messages across audiences.
  • Draft, edit and produce relevant and engaging messages, presentations, talking points, communications and content consistent with the global/regional narrative and brand.
  • Utilise NTT DATA’s mix of channels along with live interactions to reach and engage targeted internal audiences, identifying and implementing new approaches, technologies and innovations as required.
  • Use metrics and insights generated to drive improvement in communication and engagement.
  • Play an active role in the global and APAC Employee Engagement Councils.
  • Champion and deliver engagement and communication initiatives within business area(s) supported.
  • Support interface with other resources and/or agencies.

What Would Make You A Great Fit?

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in an internal communications, employee engagement and/or change management role.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience of developing strategic internal communication, employee engagement and change communication programs with solid, measurable results.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience of managing multiple time-critical projects with a proven track record in advising senior leaders.
  • Experience managing people and wider network and ensuring team goals are achieved or exceeded.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience working globally / cross-culturally and in a matrix environment.
  • Experience managing people and stakeholders while ensuring team goals are met.
  • Experience in working with marketing agencies.
  • Experience with using Eloqua and/or Populo or other enterprise-grade communications software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and comfortable with designing presentation and communications in Eloqua/Populo, and Outlook.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to develop, manage and execute long-term change communication strategies to meet organisational objectives.
  • Proficient in designing and executing effective internal communication strategies across various platforms.
  • Passionate storyteller who can build compelling narratives in various tones of voice to drive outcomes across various audiences.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excels at stakeholder engagement in a matrixed organization to achieve alignment and support and ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Understands and anticipates the direction of the business area(s)/unit(s), identifies opportunities, and makes recommendations to support change and adoption.
  • Acts as a change agent by enabling communication between business, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of change management principles and strategies to communicate effectively during organisational shifts.
  • Good understanding of employee engagement principles, including motivation, recognition, and career development.
  • Familiar with data and metrics to evaluate the impact of engagement and communication efforts and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to capture and interpret data to optimize engagement and communication efforts.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to achieve alignment and support.
  • Addressing and resolving employee relations issues while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Developing innovative approaches to enhance employee engagement and internal communication effectiveness.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and with a knack for creative design.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in a Public Relations / Communications / Engagement related field.
