Your role
 

At Allens, our business teams play a critical role in helping the firm deliver exceptional client outcomes. As Pricing Manager, you will bring strong stakeholder influence, commercial judgement, analytical insight and to support pricing decisions that shape value for our clients and the firm.
 

You will be part of our Pricing & Value team within our Finance function, working closely with the Heads of Pricing, partners, lawyers and business teams to develop pricing strategies, support major bids and tenders, and strengthen the firm’s pricing capability.
 

This is a role for someone who is motivated by complex commercial problems, enjoys working with senior stakeholders, and is confident using data, judgement and influence to improve outcomes. You will be supported by a collaborative team while also being expected to take ownership, provide clear recommendations and contribute to continuous improvement.
 

As a Pricing Manager in our Pricing & Value team you will:

  • Partner with bid teams, partners and lawyers to develop pricing and negotiation strategies that support strong client and commercial outcomes.

  • Work with partners and lawyers to respond to requests for estimates or proposals. This includes designing and implementing bespoke and alternative fee arrangements.

  • Review commercial terms and manage client pricing arrangements, liaising with clients' procurement and legal operations teams where required.

  • Use pricing tools, financial models and data insights to assess profitability, identify risks and opportunities, and influence pricing decisions.

  • Shape AI pricing and alternative fee arrangement (AFA) strategies to create value from technology and AI-enabled legal services

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of pricing infrastructure, tools and processes that improve consistency, efficiency and decision-making across the firm.

  • Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives that improve how we price, deliver value and respond to changing client expectations.

  • Assist with the management, training and development of Pricing & Commercial Analysts.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.

About you
 

You will bring strong commercial judgement, curiosity and the confidence to work through ambiguity. You will enjoy partnering with senior stakeholders, using data to tell a clear story, and developing practical recommendations that support better decisions.
 

You will have:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly.

  • Demonstrable consulting skills, including scoping problems, structuring analysis, building recommendations and delivering measurable outcomes.

  • Advanced Excel, modelling and data analysis skills, with the ability to cleanse, shape and interpret data to generate summarised commercial insights with thorough attention to detail.

  • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

  • Undergraduate degree qualification in Business/Commerce/Law or related professional degree, with postgraduate qualifications being well regarded.

  • Experience in either a professional services environment in a commercial, business partnering or pricing function role or from a Big 4 accounting firm or consultancy within Deals, Advisory, Corporate Finance, or Business Restructuring, would be well regarded.
