Why this is an exciting opportunity

We're looking for a people-focused and operationally strong Team Leader to join our Portfolio Administration Services (PAS) team within HUB24's growing Non-Custody business, based in Melbourne. In this role, you'll lead a team of Portfolio Administrators and Analysts, driving service excellence, developing team capability and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality outcomes for our clients.
Working across a diverse range of asset classes, you'll play a hands-on leadership role, overseeing daily operations, managing escalations, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a high-performance culture. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your people leadership skills with your operational expertise while contributing to the continued growth and success of HUB24's market-leading wealth management solutions.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Portfolio Administrators and Analysts, fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Oversee day-to-day portfolio administration operations, ensuring service standards are consistently achieved.
• Act as an escalation point for operational issues, stakeholder queries and client requests.
• Drive service excellence by delivering accurate, timely and high-quality outcomes for clients and advisers.
• Support onboarding, training, performance development and talent growth within the team.
• Maintain strong controls across reconciliations, data integrity, cost base management and tax reporting activities.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support effective service delivery and business outcomes.
• Contribute to projects, process improvements and operational initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality and scalability.

What you bring

You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.

Experience & Skills

• Strong hands-on experience within non-custody / Portfolio Administration Services, with a solid understanding of the operational complexities of directly held investments.
• Demonstrated experience administering alternative and directly held asset classes, and an understanding of how these differ from traditional custody-based investments.
• Strong technical knowledge of portfolio administration, tax reporting, CGT and cost base principles, including their application within a non-custody environment.
• Experience managing or overseeing reconciliations, data integrity, asset administration and operational controls across complex investment portfolios.
• Proven ability to operate as a technical SME, providing guidance on complex administration matters, resolving issues and supporting the development of technical capability across a team.
• Previous people leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop team members, manage performance and build an engaged team.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across operational and business teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality and compliance.
• Experience with IRESS or IPS would be highly regarded, alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills.
