Your Function

As a Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function across multiple countries within DLL, including Australia (primary), New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea. This role is responsible for managing outsourced payroll operations through ADP, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. You will serve as the key liaison between DLL and its payroll provider, driving operational excellence, governance, risk management, and continuous improvement across the payroll function.

Day to Day

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for ADP, ensuring payroll services are delivered in line with agreed service levels and business requirements.

  • Conduct regular service review meetings with ADP to monitor performance, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for process and system enhancements.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function to improve efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.

  • Participate in payroll vendor evaluation, selection, implementation, and transition activities, supporting payroll transformation and business change initiatives.

  • Partner closely with Audit, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and HR teams to identify, assess, and mitigate payroll risks while ensuring adherence to internal controls and governance frameworks.

  • Monitor and implement changes to payroll-related legislation, taxation, superannuation, KiwiSaver, and other statutory requirements across all supported countries.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries and escalations, providing guidance and resolution to employees, managers, and stakeholders.

  • Maintain payroll master data, employee records, and payroll documentation, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.

  • Manage the reconciliation and payment of payroll-related statutory obligations, including payroll tax, PAYG withholding, superannuation, KiwiSaver, and other country-specific requirements.

  • Prepare and provide payroll reporting, analytics, and information to support budgeting, finance reporting, audits, and business decision-making.

  • Support internal and external audit activities, including responding to audit findings and implementing corrective actions where required.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance payroll procedures, controls, and documentation to support compliance and operational excellence.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure the delivery of a high-quality payroll service.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Ensure 100% on-time payroll processing and employee payments across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea.

  • Maintain 100% compliance with applicable payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, KiwiSaver, and statutory reporting obligations.

  • Resolve payroll queries and escalations within agreed service level timeframes.

  • Deliver timely completion of monthly payroll reconciliations with minimal post-payroll adjustments.

  • Support successful internal and external audit outcomes through effective payroll controls and governance.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.

     

    Your profile:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Australian and New Zealand payroll; experience in Singapore, and/or South Korea is desirable.

  • Outsourced Payroll: Experience in an outsourced payroll environment is essential – strong preference for ADP- Pay force

  • Legislation Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation, superannuation, and statutory requirements.

  • Technical Skills: Intermediate MS Office skills, with intermediate Excel proficiency.

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
