We are recruiting for our Melbourne team a full-time or part-time experienced Patent and Trade Mark Attorney to work mainly on patent matters.

Dennemeyer has been offering patent and trade mark attorney services for the world-wide protection of Intellectual Property rights since 1962. Our attorney firm, Dennemeyer & Associates, supports our clients in every phase of their IP assets' life cycle, from the planning of a protection strategy through to opposition and renewal. Among our clients, we have new and innovative start-ups as well as global corporations, from all branches of business. Integrating technological developments in our daily work and leveraging the power of digitization to improve our services is an integral part of our business.

You will:

  • provide patent and design searching, drafting, filing, prosecution and opposition services
  • provide clear, strategic advice
  • have an opportunity to also provide some trade mark services
  • provide services directly in Australia, New Zealand, and other Pacific Island regions, and instruct attorneys overseas
  • provide services to external clients as well as clients within the Dennemeyer Group. External clients are based locally and overseas
  • identify prospective new clients, build new business relationships and support broader business development initiatives of the Dennemeyer Group

You have:

  • registration and experience as an Australian Patent and Trade Marks Attorney
  • specialised knowledge of intellectual property, including patents, registered designs and trade marks
  • an understanding of the role of intellectual property in the business of clients
  • highly developed communication skills with clients, IP offices and fellow professional colleagues
  • commitment to maintenance and development of skills and keeping abreast of developments in the field

  • deeply interested in intellectual property matters, especially patent law
  • looking forward to working in direct contact with your clients from day one
  • keen to work with a broad range of challenging and interesting clients from various branches of business, demanding solutions for all kinds of IP-related problems
