We currently have multiple 12 month maximum-term contract opportunities for trade qualified Spray Painters to join our advanced manufacturing site located in Port Melbourne. The roles require flexibility to be able to work across day, afternoon and night shifts. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for Sealant application, product preparation and painting of various parts and products within the paint shop. These positions will commence in 2026.

  • Excellent work-life balance supporting one of the following shifts:
    • Day Shift: 6am – 2:30pm
    • Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm – 11pm (15% shift loading)
    • Night Shift: 10pm - 6:30am (30% shift loading)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the requirements of quality instructions and detailed drawings
  • Compliance with BAA and customer quality assurance standards and requirements
  • Comply with surface finish process specifications and work order specifications
  • Operate and monitor spray booths & oven specifications
  • Preparation and painting of final assembled and detailed parts
  • Use of both hand and pneumatic paint process tools
  • Complete preparation processes for painting of composite products
  • Undertake mixing processes and paint application in a production environment
  • Maintain housekeeping and compliance requirements
  • Participate in Lean programs by supporting innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the business
  • Participate in health and safety culture and uphold safety & environmental standards
     

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Australian recognized Trade qualification as a Spray Painter is essential
  • Relevant experience working as a Spray Painter
  • Experience in spray painting onto various substrate materials in a high-quality environment
  • Flexibility to be available across day, afternoon and night shift is essential
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions as per specifications
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic use of computer systems
  • Able to exercise independent judgment
  • Capable of working under indirect supervision
  • General knowledge of safety procedures and strong advocate of EH&S
  • Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
     

Additional Information:
This is an Enterprise Agreement position classified as an Aerospace Tradesperson 1. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
