Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy.

We’re a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. From optimising renewable generation, creating a more intelligent grid and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy is transforming the industry around the world in a way that benefits everyone.

It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.

About the role

We're looking for a part-time Office Coordinator to help keep our fast-growing Melbourne team humming along smoothly.

As our business expands in size, scope, and across borders, we need someone super organised, proactive, and full of positive energy to make sure everything behind the scenes runs like a dream. Think of yourself as the glue that holds the team together - supporting the people who are building the future of energy.

We’re passionate about creating amazing tech that changes the way customers use (and think about!) energy - all in the name of a greener planet. This is a great opportunity to play a hands-on role in Kraken’s growth, help move us toward net zero, and support the energy transition in Australia.

📍This is an office-based role - you’ll need to be able to commute to our Melbourne office 3 - 4 days a week. We’re flexible on how these days are structured.

What you’ll do

    • Act as the daily custodian of our CBD workspace, ensuring all areas - from breakout spaces and workstations to meeting rooms - remain "client-ready" between professional cleans.

    • Act as the "right hand" to the Office Manager in planning and delivering seamless internal events and external activations.

    • Help manage and coordinate internal office catering, including large-scale team lunches and ad-hoc meeting requests.

    • Manage the end-to-end procurement of office essentials, including groceries, stationery, and branded merchandise

    • Manage guest access and assist with new starters as needed

    • Manage ad-hoc office-wide communications via Slack, ensuring the team is kept informed of updates, deliveries, and office happenings.

    • Partner with the team to uphold rigorous WHS standards, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for all staff and visitors

What you'll need

    • A knack for juggling stakeholders - you're confident working with all kinds of people, both inside and outside the company.

    • Experience with health & safety processes - assign fire wardens and champion health & safety in AU.

    • A love for planning and hosting events - whether it’s a holiday party or a last-minute lunch run, you make it happen.

    • An organised approach to getting things done fast - you're the kind of person who can bring the calm to the chaos and knows how to juggle multiple priorities.

    • The ability to wear multiple hats - you can handle lots of moving parts in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

    • Builder mentality - designed for someone who thrives on autonomy. You won't just follow a manual, you'll be the one writing it and shaping what it means to be an office manager at Kraken.

    • Experience shaping culture - While experience setting up a physical office space is a bonus, your willingness to learn, collaborate, and lead the cultural build is what matters most.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
