Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Nurse Unit Manager will lead the establishment and ongoing management of the General Medical & Surgical (General Surgery, Urology and Plastics) ward on a permanent full-time basis. 

Key achievements in this role will include successfully building the ward with a high-performing team along with delivering safe, consistent patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with proven leadership skills to contribute to the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes, whilst positively impacting culture to grow their leadership abilities with Ramsay Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the General Medical & Surgical Ward.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes
  • Plan, implement and evaluate practices, processes and services in line with Ramsay Health Care standards, legislative requirements and best practice

About You:
While leadership or management experience is desirable, this role will also suit an experienced Registered Nurse looking to step up into a leadership position.

  • Experience in the acute medical and surgical setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
