About the role 
 

We’re seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and support high-availability network operations critical to our core organizational functions.

Day-to-day, you will: 
 

·        Provide third-level network support to ensure the stability, security, and performance of Transurban’s network infrastructure.

·        Design, implement, and improve network solutions, integrating best practices to enhance operational efficiency and meet PCIDSS compliance.

·        Monitor and action network incidents in line with SLA guidelines, ensuring accurate logging and effective resolution through the IT Service Desk system.

·        Manage service requests from internal teams or business units, keeping stakeholders informed and maintaining up-to-date documentation.

·        Ensure robust change management practices, including risk assessment, approval, implementation, and post-change validation.

·        Prioritise network security, ensuring all network components are safeguarded and aligned with corporate security standards.

·        Drive continuous improvement by contributing to the development of processes, standards, and documentation within the network operations function.

·        Collaborate across teams, communicating effectively with stakeholders and escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
 

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 
 

·        Knowledge of networking concepts (switches, routers, protocols such as TCP/IP, etc.)

·        Knowledge of routing protocols and concepts (Multicast, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc)

·        Advanced configuration knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches including Nexus & Catalyst (desirable)

·        Experience with application layer and web technologies including web application firewalls and caching/compression

·        techniques.

·        Experience with SSH daemons/clients, tcpdump, Wireshark and other packet sniffing software or products.

·        Experience analysing & documenting network configurations and operational procedures

·        Experience in administrating Palo Alto Firewall

·        Experience in administrating Cisco Wireless Infrastructure

·        Experience in administrating Cisco SD WAN

·        Knowledge of Load Balancing technologies

·        Knowledge and experience in operating monitoring platforms
