About the role
Looking to lead a national transport network that’s transforming how we deliver to customers across Australia? This is your chance to shape the future of last mile logistics at scale - where innovation meets impact, and every delivery counts.
At Bunnings, we’re building the best...our team makes it happen. As our new National Transport Manager - Last Mile Network, you’ll take the reins of a high-performing team and drive the strategy, systems, and service that power our B2B and B2C deliveries across e-commerce, store network and fulfilment locations. If you’re ready to lead with purpose, embrace digital tools, and make a real difference - this is the role for you.
What’s involved
- Lead a national team across multiple sites, creating a culture of performance, learning, and support.
- Shape and deliver our last mile transport strategy, balancing service excellence with cost efficiency.
- Embed smart digital platforms to boost visibility, traceability, and customer satisfaction.
- Optimise delivery methods, partners, and channels to support scalable, flexible solutions.
- Use data to drive decisions, improve KPIs, and unlock continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across the business and with external partners to enhance our transport capability.
- Champion safety, compliance, and operational excellence across all modes of delivery.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll bring well rounded leadership experience, where you foster performance and build capability. You’ll have a strong background in transport and commercial distribution (ideally a minimum of 10 years), with experience managing both small parcel and large freight deliveries.
You’re a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments. You bring a commercial mindset, a passion for logistics, and a genuine desire to build something better. You’re curious, collaborative, and always up for a challenge.
You’ll need
- Proven experience leading national transport operations and teams, including last mile delivery across B2B and B2C.
- Strong demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead interstate teams
- A track record of optimising networks, partners, and delivery models for performance and cost.
- Experience implementing and using digital transport systems (TMS, GPS, ERP, etc.).
- Sharp analytical skills and the ability to turn data into action.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A solid understanding of transport regulations and safety standards.
- Tertiary qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or similar (preferred).
You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong.
Bunnings strives to ensure everyone is treated fairly and our team are committed to supporting you at any stage of your recruitment journey. Be sure to let us know if you require an adjustment and we can provide the most appropriate support for you. If you have the experience, skills and a passion to grow but don't necessarily nail every single point in the job description, please still apply.
