About this role

An opportunity has become available for a National Audit Learning Manager to join our collaborative and diverse Audit team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Audit professional who enjoys developing others, researching technical topics, creating technical content and facilitating learning and wants to use their Audit experience in a different way.

Working closely with the Head of Learning—Audit and subject matter experts, you will support the development and delivery of technical learning across our national Audit practice. You will help refresh existing learning content, create new learning content by translating complex technical requirements into practical training, and facilitate engaging learning sessions for our people.

You don't need to come from a traditional Learning & Development background. What is important is your technical Accounting and Audit knowledge, your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, and a genuine interest in helping others develop their technical capability.

The role supports technical learning across different career levels within Audit, from Graduate to Partner.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and refresh technical Audit learning content, ensuring materials remain relevant and technically accurate
  • Work closely with the Head of Learning—Audit and subject matter experts to incorporate auditing standards, accounting standards, regulatory developments and Audit methodologies into blended learning programs
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical and engaging learning content
  • Facilitate technical learning sessions nationally for Audit professionals across different levels of experience, from Graduate to Partner.
  • Develop learning materials for both digital learning, and live face-to-face learning programs, including: Presentations, facilitator guides, podcast scripts, videos, practical examples, case studies and supporting resources.
  • Support the delivery of onboarding and induction programs for new Audit team members.

Please note that this role will involve interstate travel to our other GT offices across Australia.

Skills & experience

We're looking for someone who brings strong technical Audit and Accounting foundations and enjoys sharing that knowledge with others. You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of five years' external Audit experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment
  • Strong working knowledge of auditing and accounting standards
  • The ability to understand complex technical Audit and Accounting concepts and turn them into clear, practical learning content for professionals and various levels
  • Experience supporting the development of others through coaching, facilitation, and technical training
  • Confidence presenting and facilitating learning for groups with different levels of technical knowledge and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with subject matter experts and senior stakeholders
  • A genuine interest in learning, capability development and helping Audit professionals grow their technical expertise

Importantly, experience as an Learning & Development specialist would be helpful, but is not essential. If you are an experienced Audit professional who has enjoyed coaching teams, facilitated technical training sessions or developed materials and would like to make this a greater focus of your career, we'd love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
