Job Description:

At Royal Canin, everything we do is driven by one simple belief: Pets make our world better. Our purpose is to make a better world for pets.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the next chapter of media at Royal Canin!

Shape an integrated ANZ media strategy across retail media, search, social, digital and brand communications - connecting investment, data, content and partnerships to build brand equity and deepen pet owner engagement.

Reporting to the Brand & Pet Owner Director (ANZ) and leading a team of three, you will be responsible for shaping and leading Royal Canin’s integrated media agenda across Australia and New Zealand.

You will set the vision for how media investment, data, content, platforms and partnerships work together to create stronger, more connected consumer experiences and commercial outcomes.

This is a strategic leadership role that will partner closely with senior leaders across Brand & Pet Owner, Sales, Category, eCommerce, Demand, Corporate Affairs, Regional and Global teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and lead an integrated media strategy across retail media, search and brand communications.
  • Lead agency briefing, media planning, implementation, optimisation and post-campaign evaluation.
  • Partner with Sales, Category and eCommerce teams to define the role of retail media across priority customers and platforms.
  • Connect retailer media plans with broader brand and commercial activity to improve visibility and conversion.
  • Lead paid and organic search strategy, using search behaviour and performance data to identify demand, content and conversion opportunities.
  • Determine the most effective channel mix and role of each touchpoint across the consumer journey.
  • Partner with Content, Social, PR and Corporate Affairs teams to enable connected communications planning.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team across campaign media, search & digital experience, and social media.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years’ experience in media, marketing communications, search, retail media or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience developing and managing integrated media strategies and plans.
  • Experience across retail media, paid search, organic search and communications channels.
  • Ability to translate data and insights into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, commercial judgement, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and prioritisation skills.
  • A collaborative, curious and future-focused approach, with an appetite to use data, technology and emerging capabilities to improve media effectiveness.

Why you’ll love working for Mars:

  • Purpose: Help craft beloved brands with a legacy of over 100 years of local manufacturing making products that people and pets will love all while helping to build a more sustainable future.
  • People: A culture that values your contributions, fosters leadership, and recognises the impact you make. Your work truly matters here.
  • Development: Shape your career with personalised development and real opportunities to grow from day one.
  • Enjoy a team and business environment that is invested in helping you manage and grow your energy for work and life.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
