IN A NUTSHELL

We’re looking for an analytical thinker to help enhance our reach and strengthen our decision-making in the e-commerce sphere. Reporting to our Head of E-Commerce Experience, you’ll work cross-functionally to better understand our customers, measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts, and drive continuous improvement.
Whether it’s uncovering valuable customer insights, tightening feedback loops, or refining forecasting methods, we need you to identify where something is working, where it isn’t, and where we can improve. We’re seeking someone who’s fascinated by how data analysis can drive real-world results.  You’d love this role if you’re eager to see the impact of your insights. You may not have always had the opportunity to witness the outcomes of your recommendations in the past and want to be part of a team where your work has visible, meaningful results.
Bring us your curiosity, calibrated insights, and love of data. In return, we’ll provide you with a world-class team to bounce off, interesting projects to engage with, and the satisfaction of seeing your work impact a growing business.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU HAVE…

  • 3-7 years experience in a data role, with experience working with large sets of data, including sourcing data from different systems, pulling it together and drawing practical insights out of it (proficiency with SQL is strongly preferred)
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience using BI tools for data visualisation
  • A knack for identifying the most important insights for decision-making and a talent for designing reports that clearly communicate key points while allowing deeper exploration if needed
  • A desire to make an impact by not only reporting but linking data analysis to actionable recommendations—and being hands-on in implementing those changes where possible
  • A passion for customer experience and a drive to improve it. You’d enjoy working with the tools, assessing the effectiveness of your recommendations, and using the information to adjust your approach for next time.
  • Strong communication skills with a desire to work cross-functionally with our in-house tech and data teams to optimise processes and develop your skills further.
  • A deep curiosity to understand why and how things work, and the need to identify that through data.

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST MONTH, HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE…

  • Developed a monthly dashboard that aggregates sales, web traffic, and conversion metrics to review KPIs and furnished a report with insights into performance trends and strategic recommendations
  • Combined sales data and customer feedback information to identify areas and opportunities for improvement across the business, pinpointing specific customer pain points
  • Met with the product development team to share updates on new product performance, and impacts across cross-channel performance to then recommend future range planning
  • Partnered with the Customer Experience team to measure the performance of different customer segments, promotions and customer journeys; identifying areas of friction
  • Responded to ad hoc data inquiries from the finance and product development teams; synthesising data into coherent insights, and presented these findings in a clear, actionable format to inform cross-departmental decision-making

LOCATION, HOURS & SALARY

This is a full-time role based in our Collingwood office (with WFH flexibility). The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
