The role:
If you are a Marketing, Events or PR graduate with an interest in Event Management and some experience in event management, this is your opportunity to join a high-performing team that shapes the future of medical education.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of how we bring our marketing and education programs to life - working on nationally recognised events, partnering with industry experts, and gaining hands-on experience from day one.

What you will do:

  • End-to-End Event Management: Plan, coordinate, and deliver a diverse range of marketing events and meetings

  • Collaborate with Industry Leaders: Work closely with Product and Marketing Managers, as well as external partners, to deliver high-quality events that drive engagement and meet organisational goals.

  • Own Venue & Vendor Management: Research venues, conduct site visits, liaise with vendors, and support contract negotiations.

  • Manage Budgets & Timelines: Create and maintain event timelines, task lists, and budgets. You’ll monitor progress, solve problems proactively, and keep everything on track.

  • Use Leading Event Technology: Build registration sites, websites, surveys, and comms using our event management platform (e.g., CVENT). Full training provided.

  • Coordinate Event Logistics: Handle travel bookings, group accommodation, transfers, and onsite logistics—always ensuring compliance with company standards.

  • Drive Communications: Draft and execute communication plans, including invitations, reminders, event updates, and post-event feedback.

  • Support Continuous Improvement: Analyse event feedback and identify opportunities to refine and elevate future experiences.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.

  • Experience using event technology platforms and digital communications tools.

  • Strong negotiation skills for vendor and contract management.

  • Experience managing large-scale conferences or multi-day events

Why You’ll Love This Role

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
