Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change (CS&CC) team as a Managing Consultant, focusing on mandatory and voluntary sustainability strategy, implementation and disclosures.

Our CS&CC team works with leading organisations to address sustainability challenges and create long‑term value by clarifying strategic direction, driving organisational change, and strengthening the quality and transparency of sustainability‑related disclosures.

What Your Impact Is

As a Managing Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality consulting projects. You will support complex engagements, contribute to project planning and execution, and collaborate closely with ERM’s technical specialists to ensure exceptional client outcomes.

You will be a trusted delivery lead and subject‑matter contributor across a diverse portfolio of sustainability and climate projects.

Key Responsibilities

Providing deep expertise in sustainability strategy and reporting

  • Apply strong expertise across materiality, strategy setting, transition planning, systems implementation and disclosure preparation.

  • Demonstrate practical understanding of climate risk and opportunity identification, assessment and resilience strategy.

  • Support clients navigating AASB S2 and ideally contribute experience with voluntary frameworks such as ISSB S1, GRI and SASB.

Client and Project Delivery

  • Work effectively within multi‑disciplinary project structures, collaborating with ERM subject‑matter experts across climate science, engineering, ecology and other disciplines.

  • Build strong working relationships with client teams and internal stakeholders.

  • Support project scoping, planning, budgeting and delivery, including project accounting fundamentals.

  • Think strategically to support decision‑makers and contribute to high‑quality project outcomes.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical capability, excellent writing and presentation skills, and confidence facilitating workshops and senior‑level discussions.

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, shaping messages for executive audiences and supporting impactful client engagements.

  • Mentor junior staff in project execution and contribute to internal technical reviews.

  • Break down complex problems into clear, actionable tasks for diverse technical specialists.

  • Collaborate internally to bring integrated ERM services to clients and contribute to a positive, high‑performing team culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • 5-8 years of experience in sustainability or a directly related field, with the ability to provide case studies as evidence.

  • Strong technical capability across sustainability strategy, climate risk, transition planning or disclosure frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills.

  • Enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility and a desire to work in a growing team.

  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environment.
