At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we are looking for a Solutions Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers.

In this role, you will partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to drive technical sales success, support customer growth, and help customers realise the value of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. You will combine people leadership, technical credibility, and commercial judgment to scale team performance across complex enterprise opportunities.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on coaching, team development, technical sales execution, and cross-functional alignment. In some environments, this role may be less hands-on technically than an individual contributor Solutions Engineer role and more focused on enabling the team to execute at a high level.

What you will do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Solutions Engineers to drive strong technical and business outcomes across the sales cycle

  • Partner with account executives and sales leadership to drive technical win strategies across new business and expansion opportunities

  • Build a high-performance team culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, coaching, and continuous development

  • Support team members in customer discovery, technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements

  • Help the team translate customer business challenges into modern data, analytics, and AI solution strategies

  • Develop technical talent, calibrate performance, and create growth opportunities across the Solutions Engineering organisation

  • Provide leadership across deal strategy, resource prioritisation, stakeholder alignment, and execution planning

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and other field teams to improve field effectiveness and customer outcomes

  • Maintain an understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and guide the team on effective positioning

  • Represent Snowflake with customers, partners, and senior stakeholders as a trusted technical and commercial leader

  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and organisational scale across the broader Solutions Engineering function

What we’re looking for
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, sales engineering, solution architecture, or related customer-facing technical teams

  • Strong experience in a vendor, pre-sales, or commercial technology environment, with a track record of supporting complex enterprise sales motions

  • Deep understanding of modern data platforms and the surrounding ecosystem, including data engineering, analytics, cloud data platforms, and adjacent technologies

  • Ability to coach teams on technical sales strategy, customer engagement, executive communication, and cross-functional execution

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences

  • Demonstrated people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management, team development, and hiring

  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining enough technical depth to guide teams through customer and deal complexity

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence across Sales, Product, Engineering, and partner teams

  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and long, strategic sales cycles

  • A pragmatic, customer-first approach with strong commercial judgment

Strongly desired
  • Experience in the data, data engineering, or observability space

  • Experience leading Solutions Engineering teams supporting enterprise or expansion sales motions

  • Background with cloud platforms and modern data ecosystems, such as AWS, dbt, Domo, Datadog, or similar technologies

  • Experience developing teams in high-growth SaaS environments

  • Ability to coach teams on balancing technical depth with sales velocity and commercial sharpness

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

What success looks like in this role
  • You build a strong, engaged, and high-performing Solutions Engineering team

  • You improve team execution across technical sales cycles, coaching, and cross-functional alignment

  • You help the team create technical champions and trusted customer relationships

  • You scale best practices across discovery, solutioning, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept work

  • You bring clarity, structure, and momentum to strategic opportunities and organisational priorities

  • You contribute to both immediate pipeline impact and long-term team capability

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
