Job Description- Play a pivotal role in modernising our commercial data ecosystem and empowering teams with self‑service insights, real‑time intelligence and emerging AI capability

We’re accelerating Jetstar’s data‑driven transformation and looking for a hands‑on leader to build the capabilities that power faster, sharper commercial decisions. As Manager, Data, Insights & AI, you’ll design the roadmap for governed data pipelines, self‑service analytics, real‑time business intelligence and production‑grade AI, lifting performance across our Commercial function.
As Manager, Data, Insights and AI, you will build and execute the roadmap to democratise data access, enhance analytical capabilities, and deploy production-grade AI solutions (including Agentic AI) that multiply the Commercial team productivity and impact. You’ll report to the Head of Commercial Strategy & Systems and partner closely with product owners, the central Data Science & Analytics team, and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that matter.
This is a foundational role: you’ll set the vision, create momentum through quick wins, and grow a small team while fostering an inclusive and innovative culture.
What you’ll do:
- Get the data foundations right. Own data governance, quality and hygiene across the Commercial data estate within our cloud platform whilst establishing authoritative definitions, lineage and ownership standards so the function operates from a single source of truth.
- Build self-service insight capability. Design and deploy next-generation BI and analytics tools that give Commercial teams direct, confident access to data without specialist dependency.
- Advance analytics maturity and deploy AI. Progress the function from descriptive reporting towards predictive and prescriptive insights, whilst deploying enterprise-grade AI and agentic automation for high-value commercial use cases.
- Build capability and lead the team. Develop a small team of technical specialists, whilst supporting data literacy and AI competency across the broader Commercial function.
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years in data analytics, BI, data science or digital transformation with demonstrated impact on business outcomes
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, data catalogues and transformation frameworks
- Experience evaluating and deploying AI/ML solutions beyond proof-of-concept, including emerging agentic AI capabilities
- The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language for senior commercial audiences, and translate commercial problems back into technical specifications
- A track record of driving technology adoption and building data literacy across non-technical populations
- Experience leading and developing technical teams, ideally in matrix structures
Highly regarded:
- Background in commercial, pricing or revenue management domains
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field
- Cloud platform or AI/ML certifications
