Job Description

Are you a passionate social worker who is interested in shaping and supporting the next generation of social workers? As a Field Education Liaison Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting Master of Social Work (Qualifying) students during their placement journey. Act as the link between the AE, students, and field agencies, ensuring every student gains meaningful learning experiences and the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for practice education placements, coordinating student support and evaluating activities
  • Conduct site visits & evaluations - regularly check in with social work students and practice education supervisors.
  • Manage placement records, assess student performance, identify and address any placement issues promptly.
  • Ensure educational & ethical standards – Help integrate social work theory with practice, ensures compliance with ethical guidelines, facilitates reflective learning through supervision and feedback, integrative seminars and other teaching associated activities.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelors, Masters or higher qualification in Social Work (AQF 7 or above)
  • Eligibility for enrolment with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • 5 years of post graduate experience in social work roles.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willing to travel to agencies on occasion as required.
  • Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain)
