The Opportunity

ACCIONA’s Specialist Businesses, comprising ACCIONA Rail, Geotech, Australian Precast Solutions, and ACCIONA M&E provide integrated expertise for Australia's landmark infrastructure projects. With a robust pipeline of future projects, these specialised divisions deliver comprehensive solutions across rail, geotechnical engineering, precast concrete, and mechanical and electrical systems

We have a rare opportunity for a Legal professional to join and support our Specialists Businesses, this role will see you reporting into the General Manager of each business with a functional line into our Legal Team.   If successful your work will cover a variety of tasks/projects across the legal, corporate and commercial sides of the specialist businesses in Australia, involving abroad range of project types.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support including reviewing, negotiating and drafting a broad range of agreements of varying sizes and risk across both the corporate and commercial sides of the business
  • Providing ad hoc advice and support to the business in the management of contract administration and operations matters, e.g. variations, EOT claims, head contract and subcontract disputes, including with respect to defects, security of payment claims.
  • Provide leadership in the commercial/legal work stream of major tenders, including the analysis of client documentation, preparation of tender responses and client communication, participation in relevant JV/consortium meetings, preparation of downstream and joint venture contractual documentation and involvement in legal due diligence processes.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Current Australian practising certificate
  • 5 years previous experience providing front and back end legal advice/services on Rail, Civil infrastructure, Energy or similar projects
  • Experience providing legal advice in a complementary area of practice (e.g. industrial relations, insurance, WHS etc) will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
  • Ability to travel interstate as is reasonably necessary.
