This is your opportunity to join the legal team at carsales as a Legal Counsel. You will become a trusted advisor to all areas of the business to assist with achieving carsales vision and business plan while minimising risk. Job Description

What you will do

  • Review, negotiate and draft a broad range of commercial contracts and website terms.
  • Advise the business in relation to privacy, consumer protection, trade practices and competition law issues.
  • Assist with M&A activity.
  • Collaborate and support relevant stakeholders in managing legal disputes, including IP infringements, service provider and customer disputes.
  • Assist with event sponsorships, trade promotions and marketing collateral.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously).
  • Unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
