Legal Counsel – Legal & Governance

What you’ll do
As a Legal Counsel in Aurecon’s Legal & Governance team, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and solutions with people and outcomes in mind. 

  • Advise on Aurecon’s project engagements (construction, advisory and digital) including contract review, negotiation and dispute management
  • Provide legal, risk and governance advice as required to the business, including senior leadership
  • Collaborate with client project teams and internal stakeholders across projects and enterprise functions
  • Management of external law firms
  • Training on legal and governance matters to Aurecon employees

What you’ll bring

  • You will be admitted to practice law in NSW or Victoria (based in Sydney or Melbourne), with 4 - 6 years PQE (ideally with a mix of private practice and in-house experience)
  • Broad legal knowledge of construction and engineering law, experience with cyber, data and AI requirements, and litigation
  • You will demonstrate the ability to make the complex simple and work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrix organisation
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach, with strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
