About the role

Our Public Liability team supports people who have been injured in public places due to the negligence of others, helping them understand their rights and pursue the compensation they may be entitled to.

We're seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Public Liability practice on a permanent full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support a passionate team of lawyers who advocate for clients through what can often be one of the most challenging times in their lives.

As a Legal Assistant, you will provide high-quality administrative and legal support to one of our Principal Lawyers within the Public Liability team while delivering an exceptional experience for our clients.

You will play a key role in keeping matters progressing smoothly and ensuring clients feel supported and informed throughout their claim.

Responsibilities

  • Providing professional and empathetic support to clients and referrers
  • Preparing legal correspondence and documents
  • Managing electronic and hard-copy files
  • Obtaining medical and legal records and reports
  • Compiling briefs for medico-legal experts and counsel
  • Assisting lawyers with court and hearing preparation
  • Diary, workflow and task management
  • Opening, maintaining and archiving files
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative and project-based tasks
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and is able to work autonomously.

You'll bring:

  • Legal administration experience with common law litigation exposure
  • Previous Personal Injury Law experience, ideally within Public Liability
  • Previous customer service experience (essential)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative and team-focused approach
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills and digital literacy
