Lead Electrical Engineer

What you'll do

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you'll help shape the future of our Electrical team while leading the delivery of major aviation, defence and data centre projects.

This is a role for someone who enjoys influencing technical outcomes, developing people and building trusted client relationships. You'll work closely with senior leaders across Aurecon and play a key role in growing capability within the team as demand across our market sectors continues to increase.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and opportunities to support some of Australia's most significant infrastructure projects, you'll have the platform to make a genuine impact while further developing your leadership career.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead technical delivery on complex and multidisciplinary electrical engineering projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and project stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and technical oversight to engineers and designers
  • Drive project strategy, design decisions and quality outcomes
  • Support bids, proposals and client engagement activities
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and secure future work
  • Partner with leadership to build capability and grow the electrical team
  • Contribute to the development of future leaders across the business
  • Play an active role in shaping team culture, performance and technical excellence

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years' experience within consulting engineering or major infrastructure environments
  • Demonstrated success leading the delivery of complex electrical engineering projects
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capability
  • Experience leading, mentoring or developing engineers and designers
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery drivers
  • Ability to influence project outcomes and provide strategic technical advice
  • Experience across aviation, defence, data centres, buildings or major infrastructure projects
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional recognition highly regarded
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance highly desirable
