About The Banking And Projects Team
Our Banking and Projects team advises sponsors, borrowers and lenders on complex and high-profile financing transactions across infrastructure, energy, resources and other asset classes. We combine deep financial markets expertise with a strong commercial focus to deliver successful outcomes for clients on some of the most significant transactions in the market.
This role offers the opportunity to work with John Schembri and James Frixou, as well as other leading lawyers across our Banking and Projects
The team works on a broad range of infrastructure financings, with a particular focus on:
- Digital infrastructure, including cutting-edge AI infrastructure and GPU financings, data centres and other digital infrastructure assets
- Social infrastructure, including social and affordable housing, schools, hospitals and other public-private partnerships (PPPs)
- Other infrastructure and asset classes, including energy and resources
Key Recent Deals Include
- Firmus on its USD10 billion GPU financing facility supporting the staged acquisition and deployment of high-performance GPU clusters (NVIDIA GB300 chips) and associated infrastructure.
- Lenders to SharonAI on various GPU financing arrangements supporting the staged acquisition and deployment of GPU clusters across various data centres.
- Macquarie Bank on a $165 million GPU financing for ResetData.
- Tetris Capital on multiple projects to be delivered under the Vic Social Housing Growth Fund (AHPP)
- Housing Australia on the Tetris consortium’s successful bid and financial close for the GLM2 PPP
- Tetris Capital on its sponsor role to bid for the delivery of the $1 billion Melton Hospital
- Plenary on its $3.4 billion project financing and bid for VicRoads’ business.
About You
We are seeking a lawyer with around three to five years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) or equivalent and a strong interest in infrastructure finance / project finance. While our preference is for candidates with direct project finance experience, we are also open to applicants with a property finance or general banking background who are eager to focus their career and build strong relationships with top-tier clients active in this space.
Key Skills And Experience Include
- Experience in finance, with exposure to infrastructure finance / project finance highly regarded
- Strong analytical, negotiation and drafting skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to work effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
