About the role:

Our high-profile Employment & Industrial practice is recognised as a market leader and has represented trade unions and individuals in landmark cases. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer to join our Employment and Industrial Law team in our Melbourne office on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to a well-respected Principal you will have the opportunity to produce quality work for our clients whilst maintaining a practical and commercial focus. You will meet with potential clients and use your legal technical knowledge and expertise to strive for fair outcomes.

Some of your key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively assist clients in progressing their legal matters within guidelines and provide excellent service
  • Prepare legal documentation
  • Drafting written communication to clients
  • Attending court for procedural hearings
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with peers, colleagues, and referrer groups
  • Foster relationships with external organisations
  • Ensure adherence to legal procedures and guidelines

The experience we are looking for:

  • 1 - 4 years post-admission experience
  • Experience in the Employment & Industrial law area is highly regarded
  • Experience with conducting litigation in Tribunals and Courts
  • Experience with conciliation conferences or mediations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships and trust
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, and commitment to drive matters to resolution in a timely manner
  • The ability to speak to clients from different backgrounds
  • A solutions focused outlook with a proactive approach to deliver quality outcomes
