Purpose of the Role
As a Key Account Manager, you will drive growth in our Marine Products business by expanding existing customer portfolios, identifying and converting new business opportunities, and ensuring a profitable and sustainable customer base. Through close collaboration with Customer Services and Commercial teams, you will align customer needs and deliver outstanding service and value.
This role reports to the Head of Sales Southeast Asia & Oceania and acts within the authority defined by the Wilhelmsen Standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive profitable sales growth across existing and new customers.
- Build and maintain a strong, healthy sales pipeline.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Services to strengthen relationships and support an account team approach.
- Work with commercial teams to ensure customer deals are structured profitably and strategically.
- Develop and implement sales plans for your portfolio, setting and achieving ambitious targets with the Sales Manager.
- Ensure full adherence to Wilhelmsen Ships Services Sales Governance for all activities within your portfolio.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date account information within the WSS CRM.
- Manage customer contracts, ensuring all terms—including credit requirements—are followed.
- Establish strong, multilevel connections within customer organisations to maximise opportunities.
- Implement sales campaigns and monitor progress and outcomes.
- Work closely with the Credit team to monitor customer credit exposure and take corrective action where needed.
- Ensure all accounts have approved credit exposure limits in line with policy.
- Manage credit collections and credit risk across your portfolio, focusing on minimising overdue debt.
Who You Are
- An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal English skills.
- Experienced in account management, sales, or business development (maritime, logistics, or industrial experience highly regarded).
- Commercially driven with a passion for achieving results and delighting customers.
- Confident in building relationships at all organisational levels and influencing stakeholders.
- Proactive, strategic, and comfortable identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Highly organised and analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Able to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Adaptable and calm under pressure, with strong decision‑making capability.
- Must have a valid permit to work in Australia.
