Thales Airspace Mobility Solutions is searching for a Graduate or Junior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join the team that is delivering a range of IT Computer and networked infrastructure for a safety critical Air Traffic Control solution.
The purpose of this position includes automating the deployment and configuration of the IT platform and SOE (Standard Operating Environment) using IaaC (Infrastructure as a Code, Ansible/Python), as well as automating other operations such as compliance checks (Chef Inspec, Go) and reports.
The two types of profiles we’re searching for?
Recent Graduate with a field of study in Network/Infrastructure (or strong demonstrated knowledge of fundamentaks). We are keen to see profiles of candidates with a strong personal interest within this area i.e. have a home lab environment.
OR
Junior candidate with 1-2 years’ commercial experience who has worked in a similar environment i.e. Linux on-prem environment focused on network infrastructure with experience across Ansible/Python or similar tech.
Some key day to day responsibilities:
- As part of a team assisting in delivering infrastructure-based projects, working on the automation of the SOE (Standard Operating Environment) and infrastructure/platform deployment using infrastructure as a Code.
- Familiarising yourself with documentation and the complex world of air traffic management
- Reading and reviewing architecture diagrams
- Installing and upgrading systems
- Working cross functionally with various engineering disciplines to deliver solutions to our clients
Qualifications
- Degree qualification with a focus on Networking (core modules)
On day one you will come with:
- Australian Citizenship to be able to obtain defence clearance - mandatory
- Experience/knowledge in Linux Operating Systems (RHEL, Rocky Linux, Fedora predominantly)
- Experience/knowledge in programming/scripting (Shell, Python, Go)
- Experience in knowledge of tools such as Ansible
- The ability to work within a large team environment, working cohesively towards a common goal.
- Curiosity for everything tech and the ability to navigate a heterogeneous solution involving many technologies.
