Kogan.com is a pioneer of Australian eCommerce. Our vision is to leverage and build technology to deliver personalised, innovating and fast customer experiences and whilst doing so being pragmatic with our solutions, scalable with our architecture, strong with our quality and not being afraid to fail quickly.
We are looking for a tech-savvy, forward-thinking IT Support Intern who wants to do more than just traditional helpdesk work. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional IT triage and cutting-edge AI utility. You will be responsible for keeping our team connected while actively finding ways to use AI tools, LLMs, and intelligent workflows to automate repititve work and make our internal IT team support our customers faster, and more efficient.
What you'll do:
Next-Gen IT Support: Provide Level 1 & 2 IT support to the Kogan team across Office 365, Google Workspace, Azure/Active Directory, hardware, and networks—but with an AI-first mindset.
AI Support & Guardrails: Help internal team members troubleshoot and optimize their use of corporate AI tools (like Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, and internal LLM interfaces).
Smart Automation: Work closely with our Systems Administrators to identify repetitive IT tickets and build automated workflows, shortcuts, and AI-driven chatbots to self-resolve common issues.
- Prompt Engineering & Enablement: Assist in building and maintaining internal prompt libraries and AI documentation to help different departments utilize AI effectively and securely.
- Data & System Maintenance: Help monitor IT systems and use basic data visualization tools to track ticket trends, keeping an eye out for patterns that are ripe for automation.
What you'll need:
- The Go-To Tech Person: You’re the person your friends and family call when their tech breaks. You love building computers, messing around with networks, or digging into software settings.
- AI Enthusiast: You don’t just use AI to write emails; you understand how LLMs work, you enjoy experimenting with prompt engineering, and you’ve played around with tools like Zapier, Make.com, Power Automate, or OpenAI APIs.
- Problem Solver & Analytical Thinker: You look at a repetitive problem and think, "How can I write a script or build an automation so I never have to do this manually again?"
- Keep it Real Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication. You can explain a technical solution to a non-technical person without using confusing jargon.
- Education: Currently studying or recently graduated with a degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
