Traild: Who are we?

Traild is a high-growth SaaS company redefining how finance teams operate, combining AI, automation, and payments infrastructure to power the future of B2B finance.

Every year, businesses lose billions to fraud, errors, and mistakes. Traild exists to solve this at scale, helping finance teams move faster, stay in control, and operate with confidence.

The Role: Want to be a part of our exciting growth journey?

We’re looking for a hands-on IT Engineer to join us, based out of our Prahran office. This isn’t a traditional IT role, and we’re being deliberate about that.

AI has changed what our business looks like. Across finance, marketing, ops, and customer-facing teams, people are now building real software: internal tools, automations, prototypes, and small apps, using AI assistants. They don’t have engineering backgrounds, but they’re shipping useful things, and they need someone who can help them get those things hosted, secured, integrated, and reliably running. We can’t keep pulling our product engineers in to do this, so we’re building that capability into IT.

That’s the work. Alongside the foundational IT remit (endpoints, identity, SaaS administration, security, service desk) you’ll be the person who helps a non-technical colleague turn their AI-built script or app into something that runs in production, talks to the right systems, and doesn’t fall over. You’ll write code (Python, C# .Net, Java etc.). You’ll automate things that should never have been manual. You’ll build the muscle inside IT that lets the rest of the company move faster with AI tools, safely.

This is a hands-on role today, with a clear path to growing into a leadership position as the team and the function scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and improve our core IT environment: Microsoft 365, Intune, identity and access, mixed macOS/Windows endpoints, networking, and the SaaS stack.

  • Support colleagues across the business who are building with AI tools, help them host, deploy, secure, and operate the apps, scripts, and automations they’re creating.

  • Experience with some form of typed OOP language for e.g. C# .Net, Python, Java, Golang, Kotlin or similar

  • Stand up and maintain hosting environments and integrations for internal tools (cloud infrastructure, deployment, secrets, monitoring) at a scale appropriate for internal use.

  • Own the service desk experience: incidents, requests, assets, onboarding/offboarding, fast, friendly, and increasingly automated.

  • Implement and maintain endpoint security, device compliance, and identity controls aligned to zero-trust principles.

  • Partner with security and compliance to support audits, evidence collection, and continuous control monitoring.

  • Collaborate with our IT teams in North America and EMEA to keep things consistent globally.

Who You Are:

You’re hands-on. You like solving problems by writing code, not by raising tickets with someone else. You’re comfortable in a terminal, you reach for Python or C# before a GUI, and the idea of helping a colleague get their AI-built tool running properly sounds genuinely interesting to you. You probably came up through engineering, devops, platform, or systems work, or you started in IT and taught yourself to code because the manual version of the job was too slow.

  • Strong coding skills for e.g. C# .Net, Python, Java, Golang, Kotlin or similar. Any other engineering or coding background (backend, DevOps, platform, scripting, automation) is exactly what we’re looking for.

  • Comfortable with cloud infrastructure: deploying small apps, managing hosting, working with APIs, handling secrets and configuration sensibly.

  • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem: Entra ID, Intune, M365 administration.

  • Experience managing Windows and macOS endpoints, identity and access, and the day-to-day of a modern SaaS environment.

  • A working understanding of IT security fundamentals: endpoint hardening, MFA, least privilege, modern IAM, zero-trust thinking.

  • Genuine curiosity about AI tools and how they’re changing the way non-engineers build software, and interest in being the person inside IT who unlocks that for the rest of the company.

  • A growth mindset. This is an IC role today, but we want someone who could grow into leading this function over time.

  • Excellent communication and a service-oriented mindset. You like helping people, and you make things easier for them, not harder.

The Perks of Working at Traild

  • Global team: we are growing across APAC, NA and EMEA and have team all across the world.

  • We are growing at an exponential rate, this is an opportunity to get involved with a true rocketship with all the excitement and opportunities that comes with it

  • Our team genuinely loves working at Traild: our eNPS score is 78, where anything above 50 is considered world-class.

Please note that the final applicants for this job will be asked to consent in writing to a police check / criminal background check to the extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction of employment. Please note that Traild is an E-Verify employer.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
