Daimler Truck AuP is looking for a dynamic and innovative university student to join our team as an Industry Based Student supporting our Information Technology (IT) department. Our 2027 IBL (Industry Based Learning) Program will expose you to real jobs, real experiences and real learning which will allow you to gain valuable workplace experience relevant to your chosen field of study. This one-year (full time hours) opportunity to learn and work alongside our experienced team of IT professionals is suitable for an undergraduate student who is interested in completing a professional year during their penultimate year of study. It is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to accelerate your IT business knowledge and gain valuable exposure to our brand and corporate values. Our 2027 IBL Program:

Daimler Truck supports Industry Based Learning year after year and continues to develop our program and students.  We have had many successful students carve their future careers in our industry after building sound foundations through our IBL program.  We strive to offer fantastic on the job work experience combined with professional development opportunities to enable you to kick-start your future with on-going on-line and in-person training, addressing a variety of technical and soft skills development early in your career.  In addition to this we will offer you the opportunity to take part in our mentoring program to address individual development needs.

The Daimler Truck IBL program will commence in January 2027. You will need to commit to full-time office hours until end of January 2028. 

To qualify for this program, you must be an undergraduate student currently completing your penultimate year of study.  As at January 2027, you must have a remaining 12 months or 2 semesters of study to complete your degree. Ideally, you are studying an IT related degree. 


Responsibilities

The role:

As the Information Technology IBL, learn how to provide on-site and remote support for Daimler Truck staff, assisting with iPhone and laptop refresh programs, assisting with new user access requests and other tasks as required.  

Key tasks will include: 

  • Provide hands on support to the greater Daimler Truck business and dealers

  • Support the Applications team with new user administration, user audits and knowledge base updates

  • Support the Infrastructure team with hardware rollouts 

  • Create and raise purchase orders and process invoices to ensure compliance and vendors are paid on time

  • Involvement in projects to ensure the delivery is on time and in line with budgets

About you:

As the successful candidate, you will apply your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build positive business relationships within a fast paced and dynamic environment. Attention to detail, time management skills and the confidence to work autonomously whilst managing multiple priorities is critical within this position. 

Above all, as you will be working in a small team, you will have a collaborative approach and have a flexible and adaptable attitude to the changing needs of the department.
