How you will create an impact
In this exceptionally varied Human Resources Business Partner role, you will report into the Head of Human Resources, Pacific and work closely with leaders and employees to provide hands-on and strategic input, insight and advice on all people-related matters.
Key HRBP accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Understand business strategies and help drive the people agenda in partnership with leadership to achieve business goals.
- Strengthen our employment brand and showcase the work we do every day to support our employees & stakeholders.
- Partner with business & stakeholders on all HR programs including workplace culture & inclusion, workforce planning, talent development, talent & succession planning, performance management, reviews & goal setting, compensation and benefits, on/off-boarding, safety & wellbeing, change management initiatives and employee relations.
- As a One-HR approach, partner with our COEs and HR Shared Services to provide support in the delivery and management of effective HR solutions, to provide optimum employee experience and to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership to champion and accelerate a high-performance culture of excellence and inclusion in which our people feel engaged and inspired to discover their full potential and deliver top business results.
- Provide accelerated learning, development, and career enhancement opportunities to retain and attract top talent.
- Facilitate the development of an Employee Value Proposition plan that promotes employee retention and engagement.
- Provide valued coaching and guidance on all HR matters such as performance, grievance and dispute resolution.
- Ensure HR governance and practices are in compliance with the prevailing laws, code of conduct and policies.
- Sustain a committed and inclusive culture by continuing to embed AIG’s Purpose and Values across all HR-related processes and activities, including volunteer/corporate social responsibility events, talent initiatives and health & wellness programs.
- Drive risk management culture, with adequate risk assessment, including performance incentives and accountability.
- Work with HR Analytics to prepare reports as required for leadership, board and regulatory means.
- Support additional HR-related activity such as budgeting preparation, testing implementation of upgraded HRIT solutions, third party provider management and maintenance of local employee portal etc.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven track record of HR generalist experience with in-depth knowledge of HR management practices including strategic business partnering, organisational effectiveness, performance management, rewards & recognition, talent management & development, HR operation management, employee engagement and employment law.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian labour legislation and employee relations landscape.
- Ability to interface with various business clients and adeptly navigate a variety of opportunities and challenges.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and credibility and establish effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Demonstrate effective and impactful communication, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Excellent project management, prioritisation, and multitasking skills are critical for success.
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and drive strategic outcomes across multiple office locations.
- Ability to have courageous conversations with leaders and employees with openness and integrity.
- Experience in insurance or financial services industry with global matrix organisation beneficial.
