The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations HSE Manager for our Energy & Industrial business to partner with operational leaders and project teams to drive a high performing health, safety and environment culture across our Energy & Utilities business. 
 
Reporting to the Head of HSE, you will lead a team of HSE professionals and act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, supporting the delivery of work safely, sustainably and in line with company, client and legislative requirements. This role plays a critical part in influencing safety ownership across the business, building capability, driving continuous improvement and ensuring operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of projects. 
 
This is an East Coast focused leadership position requiring regular travel to project sites across the East Coast of Australia. 
 
What We're Looking For
You are a collaborative and influential HSE leader who thrives in complex operational environments and can build trusted relationships at all levels of an organisation. You are passionate about creating safe workplaces and enabling leaders to take ownership of HSE outcomes. 
 
To be successful in this role you will bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional HSE certifications. 
  • Extensive experience within high risk industries such as construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or mining. 
  • Proven experience leading and developing high performing HSE teams in multiple locations across the East Coast of Australia. 
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management frameworks across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading investigations, audits, compliance programs and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills. 
  • Strong analytical capability with experience using reporting systems and data to drive business outcomes. 
  • Experience supporting multiple projects and geographically dispersed teams. 
  • Qualifications in ICAM investigation (Lead) are required.
  • Injury management or auditing qualifications will be highly regarded. 
  • Have the ability to travel to both regional and metro interstate and intrastate locations regularly.
