Job Description

About the role

The HR Specialist (internally known as People Operations Specialist) collaborates closely with our People Operations team to provide expert HR advice to the business, oversee employee relations, contribute to remuneration and benefits initiatives, and enhance our company's work health and safety practices, all with the aim of fostering an exceptional employee experience and operational excellence throughout the organisation.

What you will get to be part of:

  • Take ownership of complex ER cases, including disciplinaries, performance management, grievances, and investigations, requiring minimal guidance, while advising leaders on fair and compliant employment practices.
  • Enhance OHS/WHS capabilities by improving policies, developing training content, ensuring compliance, and bridging knowledge gaps by working with the right stakeholders.
  • Drive annual remuneration benchmarking and performance review processes, to ensure fairness, pay parity, and market competitiveness.
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders to provide pragmatic, risk-aware HR advice that balances commercial needs, compliance, and best practice.
  • Lead and execute HR projects such as WGEA reporting, policy development, and system optimisation to drive efficiency and compliance.
  • Support the optimisation and integration of people systems, ensuring seamless processes and data accuracy.
  • Own HR tasks end-to-end, demonstrating initiative and ensuring successful execution.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience managing complex ER/IR cases with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with business leaders and operate as a trusted HR partner.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in the APAC region and ability to apply it pragmatically.
  • Understanding of OHS/WHS requirements, with a track record of ensuring compliance and problem-solving where knowledge gaps exist.
  • Strong project management skills—ability to take ownership of HR initiatives and deliver results.
  • Experience in fast-moving, complex organisations, particularly those in a growth or transformation phase.
  • Data-driven mindset, with experience in remuneration reviews, HR reporting, and working with HRIS platforms.
  • Comfortable working in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment where adaptability is key.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset—able to identify and bridge knowledge gaps across any HR function, working with the right people to ensure strong outcomes.
