  • Optimise Systems & Data: Act as the HRIS champion, driving data integrity, system enhancements, and leveraging technology to deliver insightful reporting and support workforce planning.
  • Ensure Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of Australian employment law compliance, managing policies, risk, and secure data practices, and supporting audit and governance activities.
  • Support Payroll Integration: Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of people data and seamless data flow for payroll-related changes.
  • Enhance Employee Experience: Drive initiatives to modernise HR service delivery, fostering self-service, digital solutions, and continuously improving processes.
  • Collaborate & Influence: Act as the People Business Partner for Corporate Functions, providing practical advice, supporting managers, and building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Champion DEI Initiatives: Take ownership of agreed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion actions, supporting their implementation and embedding inclusive practices within HR processes.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate activity, and support the development of HR operational capability through documentation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in HR operations, shared services or people operations roles within a complex organisation.
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing HR systems, data and transactional HR processes.
  • Sound working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.
  • Exposure to HR business partnering or advisory work, with interest in further developing partnering capability.
  • Confidence managing competing priorities in a high‑volume, service‑oriented environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive information.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
