Position Details - HR Business Partner, LavertonWe are now looking to appoint an experienced and highly capable HR Business Partner to join our Laverton facility, one of the larger sites in the Lineage Australian network, employing approximately 430 team members and managing 45,000 pallet spaces.
This is a pivotal role for the site and a unique opportunity to influence culture, capability and productivity at scale as we continue our journey of transformation and growth.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director – HR, Australia, the HR Business Partner will work closely with the Laverton leadership team to create a people-centric framework for success. You will be a trusted advisor to leaders, balancing strong operational HR delivery with strategic input across workforce planning, employee relations, industrial relations, capability development and change.
This is a hands-on role, ideally suited to an experienced generalist who thrives in complex, blue-collar environments and enjoys partnering with leaders to develop accountability, engagement and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Partner with Site Leaders to deliver practical, commercially aligned HR solutions that meet current and future business needs
Coach leaders to own the employee relationship, embedding Lineage’s safety culture and values
Provide expert advice on performance management, employee relations, industrial relations and complex workplace investigations
Lead Enterprise Agreement negotiations end-to-end, including drafting agreements and submissions to the Fair Work Commission
Act as the primary point of contact for Union organisers and delegates, managing relationships and IR matters
Manage Fair Work Commission matters, including unfair dismissal claims
Support workforce planning, organisational design, recruitment and succession planning
Drive performance, talent and succession planning cycles
Support restructures, change initiatives and business transformation activities
Oversee the employee lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation, data integrity and compliance
Deliver and support capability and leadership programs (e.g. Leading the Lineage Way, DEI, Supervisor Toolkits)
Support engagement initiatives, leave management, reward and recognition and compliance with onboarding and induction requirements
Champion Lineage values and help create an inclusive, engaged and high-performing workplace
About You
You are a confident, resilient and people-focused HR professional who can operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
You will bring:
A degree in HR, Business or Commerce
Extensive experience as a Generalist HR Business Partner, ideally in a blue-collar, unionised or operational environment
In-depth working knowledge of Australian workplace legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Proven experience in employee relations, industrial relations and workplace investigations
Background in negotiating and managing Enterprise Agreements and engaging with Unions
Demonstrated capability in recruitment, workforce planning and organisational change
Experience supporting restructures, transformation or large-scale change
High emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management capability
Exceptional attention to detail and confidence drafting HR documentation
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Workday and Chris21 highly regarded)
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
