Growth Marketing Lead - Experience

12-month fixed-term contract | Melbourne

This is a brand-new role at Australian Venue Co., created to shape how we develop and scale experience-led marketing across our national venue network.

We’re looking for a commercially minded and creatively curious marketer to build this capability from the ground up, identify what customers are excited by, and turn those insights into experiences that drive visitation and revenue.

You will connect emerging trends, customer behaviours, seasonal opportunities, entertainment, sport, family experiences and hospitality concepts with what is commercially viable and operationally achievable across our venues.

What you’ll be doing
  • Shape the strategy, approach and ways of working for experience-led growth at AVC.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of experience-led marketing ideas.
  • Research local and global trends, customer behaviours and emerging experience formats.
  • Turn early-stage ideas into practical concepts, offers and execution frameworks.
  • Assess ideas based on customer appeal, commercial potential, venue suitability and operational complexity.
  • Develop playbooks and promotional briefs that marketing and venue teams can easily execute.
  • Work closely with Activations, Live Experience, Marketing and Operations teams.
  • Identify relevant suppliers, partners, creators and experience providers.
  • Establish clear measures of success, including bookings, attendance, participation, revenue and visitation.
  • Review performance and share learnings on what to repeat, scale or stop.
  • Manage multiple concepts, timelines, approvals and handovers through Monday.com.
About you

You are a marketer, activation specialist, events professional or hospitality experience leader who knows how to move an idea from “this could be great” to “here’s how we make it happen”.

You’ll bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience across marketing, activations, events, entertainment, hospitality, brand or a related consumer-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of experience-led marketing and customer engagement.
  • A sharp eye for trends, social behaviour and ideas that can drive visitation.
  • The ability to balance creativity with commercial and operational practicality.
  • Experience developing concepts, campaign frameworks, playbooks or promotional materials.
  • Strong research, analytical and commercial skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong organisation, project management and attention to detail.
  • Confidence working across multiple teams, venues and regions.
  • Hospitality experience is highly desirable.
Why join AVC?

Australian Venue Co. is one of Australia’s leading hospitality groups, operating a diverse portfolio of venues across the country.

As the first person in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to define the function, shape the strategy and establish the frameworks that will influence how experience-led marketing is developed across AVC.

You’ll see your ideas move from insight to execution across a national venue network and work alongside teams across marketing, operations, activations, entertainment and venue performance.

This 12-month fixed-term opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys building something new, making a visible impact and creating momentum quickly.

If you’re ready to shape a new capability and turn great ideas into commercially successful venue experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
