Job Description

Group Project Manager (Fixed term 24 months)

Lead Major Health Infrastructure Projects That Shape Patient Care

We are seeking an experienced Group Project Manager to join our Redevelopment team and lead the planning, delivery and commissioning of complex health infrastructure projects across multiple Epworth locations. Reporting to the Group Manager Redevelopment, you will manage projects ranging from $100,000 to $30 million, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, quality and budget objectives.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role responsible for managing redevelopment, refurbishment and capital works projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with executives, clinical leaders, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to hospital operations.

You will coordinate planning, design, construction, commissioning and operational transition activities while maintaining strong governance, stakeholder engagement and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of redevelopment and construction projects across multiple Epworth sites.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks and quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate stakeholder workshops, planning meetings and project governance activities.
  • Oversee consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout all project phases.
  • Drive health planning, design coordination and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor and report project financial performance and budget status.
  • Ensure statutory, compliance and operational requirements are met.
  • Facilitate effective communication between clinical, operational and project teams.
  • Support smooth handover, transition and defect management processes.

Qualifications

About You

You are a highly organised and commercially astute project professional with a strong track record delivering large-scale construction or redevelopment projects within complex environments.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Property, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years' experience delivering major construction projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong financial management, reporting and budget tracking capability.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity and competing priorities.
  • Strong project governance, risk management and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management and reporting systems.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience delivering hospital, healthcare or major infrastructure projects.
  • Engineering qualifications or technical construction expertise.
