About Gridsight

The energy transition is increasing grid complexity at exactly the moment utilities need to move faster. Gridsight is solving the foundational problem: a real-time dynamic model of how power flows through every layer of the grid, and we’re building an all-encompassing platform around this.

Our technology gives utilities the foundational grid model and decision layer they need to connect customers faster, unlock capacity, improve visibility, and orchestrate distributed energy resources at scale.

As we grow across the US, ANZ, and the UK, implementation must become faster, more consistent and more scalable. We are looking for someone to own and drive this evolution.

The role

You will own global implementation at Gridsight, leading the team responsible for turning a customer's raw grid data into an accurate model inside Gridsight's platform - extracting, validating and transforming their data into our schema so they can start getting value.

It doesn't stop at go-live: utility networks change constantly, so we keep updating the model on a recurring cadence for the life of the contract. Everything else Gridsight delivers - capacity visibility, faster connections, DER orchestration - depends on this data being accurate and current.

We need someone who can:

  • Lead the global implementation function and regional implementation teams, raising the bar for delivery quality, predictability and customer time to value.
  • Build the Implementation Centre of Excellence and define the systems, standards and interfaces that allow delivery to scale globally.
  • Build the capability and guardrails for regional teams to own end-to-end implementation delivery.
  • Automate repeatable work, remove process friction and turn implementation knowledge into scalable systems, tools and reusable assets.

This is a player-coach role. On any given week, you may unblock a live implementation, review a technical design, redesign a handover, prototype an automation, coach an implementation engineer, assess regional readiness and work with Product and Engineering to remove a recurring deployment constraint.

This role initially reports to the VP Operations. The regional implementation teams report to you, and you will partner closely with regional Commercial teams and with Product and Engineering.

What you will own

Uplift and scale the existing implementation process

  • Improve scoping and implementation planning so commitments, dependencies, risks and customer responsibilities are visible before delivery begins.
  • Maintain and uplift operating rhythm for portfolio reviews, delivery forecasting, risk management and executive escalation.
  • Stay close to active implementations and intervene directly where the process, tooling or technical approach is not yet mature.
  • Define a balanced scorecard covering time to value, implementation cycle time, forecast accuracy, quality, rework, automation coverage, regional delivery capability and customer outcomes.

Build the Implementation Centre of Excellence

  • Define the Centre of Excellence charter, service catalogue, governance model and interfaces with regional Commercial, Product, Engineering and Customer teams.
  • Own the implementation methodology, patterns, playbooks, templates, checklists, reusable configurations and knowledge base.
  • Create consistent technical and quality standards across platforms and regions without slowing down local execution.
  • Turn lessons from every implementation into better standards, product requirements, automations and enablement for the next one.

Enable regional delivery

  • Set the direction and lead the transition to a Centre of Excellence model in which the global implementation function provides deep expertise, systems and leverage, and regional teams own end-to-end delivery.
  • Define the capabilities, roles, capacity and operating responsibilities each region needs to deliver independently.
  • Build practical training, shadowing, certification and ongoing coaching so regional commercial teams can deliver with confidence and consistency.
  • Establish clear regional readiness gates, support boundaries and escalation paths.

Automate and streamline implementation

  • Own data landing as implementation's automation service area, and partner with Data Platform on the transformation tooling and warehouse design that implementation depends on..
  • Data landing: make customer data intake fast, reliable and user-friendly for both customers and Gridsight, with automated checks, verification, feedback and clear exception handling.
  • Data transformation: owned by Data Platform. Implementation represents delivery requirements - what "done" needs to look like for a customer to go live - and ensures the resulting workflows are ones regional delivery teams can operate safely and independently..
  • Data warehouse design: owned by Data Platform team to ensure the underlying platform and data foundations are best in class and aligned with Gridsight’s business goals.
  • Ensure implementation tooling is maintainable, secure, observable and owned
  • Drive practical AI enablement across implementation workflows.

Lead the team and operating model

  • Build the future team shape and capability plan for the central Centre of Excellence, including where specialist expertise should sit.
  • Set a high bar for technical judgment, delivery discipline, documentation, ownership and customer empathy.
  • Create a culture that balances urgency with quality and treats recurring problems as system-improvement opportunities.
  • Partner effectively across Commercial, Product, Engineering and Customer functions, resolving ambiguity and making ownership explicit.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary. We hold high expectations, but pay accordingly.
  • Meaningful ESOP so you share in the growth of Gridsight.
  • $2,500 WFH allowance, $2,500 health and wellness allowance, bi-annual in person working weeks, and lunch is on us when you’re in office.
  • Work how you like. Fully remote, hybrid or in office with a fresh, new head office in Sydney and satellite spaces in Melbourne, Brisbane and Hobart.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
