About this role

This is a critical role at a fast-scaling company with bold ambitions and significant growth ahead. As Halter continues to expand globally our fleet footprint grows right alongside us - more vehicles, more markets, more complexity, and higher stakes if it’s not managed well.

As our Global Fleet Specialist, you'll own fleet end-to-end across all of our markets. You'll be the person who makes sure vehicles are never a blocker - whether that's a new starter needing wheels on day one, a market scaling faster than planned, or a requirement landing out of nowhere. You'll build the systems, relationships, and judgement to move fast without compromising judgement.

This is not a slow-moving, process-heavy role. We hire quickly, with little lead time, and fleet needs to keep pace. It requires someone who is nimble, has exceptional care for detail even when moving at speed, and genuinely enjoys the operational grind of getting things right across multiple markets. Your character will matter. You'll need the judgement to make good calls under pressure, the communication skills to bring vendors and our team along with you, and the project management chops to keep it all moving without anything slipping through the cracks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Global Fleet Management: Manage fleet across all of our markets end-to-end - from vehicle selection and procurement through to delivery, movements and insurance. You're the single point of accountability for fleet, wherever it sits in the world.

  2. Speed Without Compromise: Hiring moves fast, and vehicles should never be the thing holding someone back. Build the processes and vendor relationships that let us move quickly on new requests.

  3. Vendor and Platform Management: Own our relationships with fleet vendors and platforms across markets, negotiating well and holding them to the standards we expect.

  4. Reactive Issue Management: Manage reactive issues as they arise in the field - whether that's a breakdown, an accident, or something urgent that needs sorting on the spot.

  5. Employee Engagement: Own employee guidance on all things vehicle-related - help the team understand our vehicle standards and expectations, how to use their vehicle, and who to go to when something comes up. You're the go-to person for fleet

  6. Generalist Range: Fleet touches everything - people, finance, legal, operations. Expect the unexpected, and be a key part of making it all happen.

We’re looking for someone who.
  1. Proven experience managing fleet or a similarly complex, multi-market operational space.

  2. Exceptionally nimble - you thrive on pace and can turn requests around fast without dropping the ball on detail.

  3. Deep care for detail, even under pressure. Nothing slips, and the standard of your work shows how much you care.

  4. People love working with you - you build trust fast, and it shows in how easily vendors, stakeholders, and the team turn to you.

  5. Thinks from first principles - you don't default to templates or "how it's always been done." You build for the real problem.

  6. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills, and builds relationships that get things done.

  7. Excellent judgement and discernment - you know when to move fast on your own call and when to escalate.

  8. Is genuinely energised by operational complexity across multiple regions.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
