REA Group is seeking a visionary General Manager – Commercial to lead the end-to-end product strategy and execution for Real Commercial Australia (RCA), driving consumer and customer experiences across realcommercial.com.au and the connected commercial property ecosystem.

RCA is Australia's #1 commercial property advertising portal. This role demands a proven product leader who can defend our market leadership while pioneering expansion into commercial data offerings, targeting significant revenue and yield growth.

Working closely with Design, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Marketing, you will embed great discovery practices, drive strategic alignment, and deliver outcomes at scale for both consumers and commercial customers in an increasingly competitive landscape.

 

What the role is all about 

  • Define and execute the RCA product vision aligned to REA's goals, focusing on consumer audience growth, customer value, and market leadership in commercial property
  • Drive product innovation across advertising products, data platforms, and emerging commercial data offerings
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to deliver cohesive, high-quality consumer and customer experiences end-to-end
  • Own product prioritisation across consumer and customer experiences, ensuring strategic coherence and technical leverage
  • Lead and develop direct reports including Heads of Product, Senior Product Managers and Business Analysts, fostering growth, performance, and exceptional culture
  • Drive organisational design and establish effective tribe cadences to enable rapid product delivery and sustainable team health
  • Mentor product leaders and individual contributors, creating clear career pathways and building capabilities for autonomous, outcome-focused teams
  • Champion customer-centric product culture grounded in discovery, experimentation, and evidence-based decision making
  • Ensure successful delivery of RCA product initiatives, balancing speed, quality, and business outcomes across consumer and customer experiences
  • Establish frameworks for product metrics, prioritisation, and cross-team planning, working closely with Engineering and Design
  • Drive outcome-focused measurement representing genuine value for consumers, customers, and stakeholders
  • Accelerate growth initiatives including AMAX penetration, Elite+ uptake, and new revenue products
  • Build strategic partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Sales Enablement teams to understand customer businesses and translate into product direction
  • Engage directly with commercial property customers and industry stakeholders to validate product-market fit and ensure customer value delivery
  • Represent RCA's product vision with executive leadership, key customers, industry partners, and external stakeholders
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams, building empathy and shared accountability
  • Collaborate across business units to create consistent experiences and leverage economies of scale

 

Who we’re looking for 

  • Proven experience as a senior product executive (GM, VP, Director level) in consumer technology, marketplace, or media platforms with hands-on product and technology leadership
  • 10+ years in Product Management with strong people leadership experience managing 4-8 direct reports across cross-functional product teams
  • Demonstrated success managing complex product programs, balancing consumer and customer needs, and delivering material commercial impact
  • Strategic foresight and commercial mindset—ability to "see around corners," align stakeholders, and convert evidence-based strategies into realised benefits
  • Technical fluency to effectively collaborate with Engineering and Design teams, understanding modern product development practices
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills with proven experience engaging at Board and C-level, presenting complex product strategies clearly
  • Outstanding stakeholder management abilities to build alignment across diverse internal teams and external industry partners
  • Customer engagement experience including direct interaction with enterprise customers and translating needs into product requirements
  • Resilient, growth-minded leadership—comfortable moving between strategy and detail, operating in fast-paced, agile environments
  • An inspiring leader who grows talent, champions diversity of thought, and builds healthy, high-performance teams
  • Business, Commerce, or Technical degree (or equivalent industry experience)
