Prezzee is redefining the global gift card and payments market, and we’re seeking a dynamic General Counsel to lead our legal function. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll provide strategic guidance across regulatory, governance, corporate transactions, finance, and privacy, playing a key role in shaping our global expansion and long-term growth.

Role based in Sydney or Melbourne office


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global legal team, fostering collaboration and alignment with company objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and Executive Team, providing clear and strategic legal counsel on business-critical matters.
  • Oversee corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and due diligence, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to protect and maximise the value of Prezzee’s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Streamline legal operations, leveraging technology and AI to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory frameworks, including privacy, consumer protection, data security, and governance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Finance, and Technology, to integrate legal considerations into business strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external regulators, auditors, and legal partners.


What You’ll Bring

  • 10 +  years PQE.
  • Admission to practice law in Australia, with additional international qualifications (e.g., U.S. or U.K.) considered a plus
    A background in fintech/payments, startups, or listed organisations, with a strong understanding of regulatory landscapes.
  • Proven ability to operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and business challenges.
  • A commercial mindset with a strong focus on risk management and enabling business success.
