Job Description
The Fullstack Software engineer is responsible for building new applications as well as maintaining and supporting existing applications for Melbourne Design Centre. The main objective will be to design and build advanced web applications for cross browser platforms but is also expected to take active participation in end-to-end development tasks like documentation, testing, deployment, support, troubleshooting and backend development activities centred around .Net, Azure Cloud and Docker.
Basic Requirements
Essential
Solid experience in Software Development, Design and Architecture, ideally within an enterprise environment
Strong knowledge and application of software design patterns
Knowledge of web standards and ecosystem
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Solid understanding of HTTP, JSON and RESTful design
Strong foundational web knowledge (eg. HTML/CSS)
Strong Javascript knowledge (ES6+)
Experience with NodeJS
Understanding of common Javascript libraries (eg. React, Angular)
Understanding of state management framework (eg. Redux/MobX)
Knowledge of CSS pre/post processor
Unit and Integration testing (eg. Jest)
Package management (eg. Yarn, NPM)
Demonstrable significant backend experience in C#, SQL Server and Azure Cloud
BONUS skills
Proficiency with web oriented IDE (eg. VS Code, Rider, Web Storm)
Understanding of WebSocket and WebRTC
Understanding of statically typed programming (eg. Typescript)
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Experience with design tools (eg. Figma, Sketch, Zeplin)
Experience with containerisation (eg. Docker)
Experience with frontend build tools (eg. Webpack, Gulp, Rollup)
Experience with responsive design (e.g Material Design)
Experience and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure Devops, GitLab)
