Job Description:

We’re looking for a confident and experienced Senior Case Manager/RTWS to step into a Technical Manager role within our front-end RTW team.
In this role, you’ll focus on coaching and developing others, not managing your own claims portfolio. You’ll provide clear technical guidance, uplift decision-making, and support the team to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes in line with legislative requirements.
You’ll oversee our APA results, case conference and manage litigation and conciliation matters.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong Workers’ Compensation experience who enjoys mentoring, influencing performance, and making a broader impact across the team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Driving continuous improvement across claims technical practices and performance

  • Manage a front-end claims portfolio ranging from week 0–70, handling cases from low to high complexity

  • Partnering with claims teams to support quality decision-making and compliance outcomes

  • Collaborating closely with Legal to shape claims strategies and achieve strong outcomes

  • Providing expert guidance on legislation, policy, and claims management practices

  • Conducting entitlement and file reviews, including identifying potential fraud risks

  • Supporting teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service and meet key performance metrics

  • Analysing claims trends and identifying opportunities for practical improvement

  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business

  • Ensuring adherence to legislative, governance, and WorkSafe requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Strong claims management capability with a clear ambition to grow and progress your career

  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation and WorkSafe guidelines

  • Background in a technical specialist or similar advisory role

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
