How you’ll make an impact

Join our Customer Protection – Fraud & Scams team and play a key role in protecting our customers from fraud and scam activity across Wealth, Lending and Everyday Banking.

As a Fraud & Scam Investigator, you’ll help detect, investigate and respond to fraud and scam incidents, while supporting our impacted customers and business units.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Detect, investigate and resolve fraud and scam incidents quickly and effectively
  • Monitor and action fraud alerts across application and transaction systems
  • Speak directly with customers to support enquiries and investigations
  • Identify emerging fraud risks and recommend controls to minimise exposure
  • Partner with business teams, ERM and Internal Audit on risk and investigations
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to fraud reporting and insights
  • Support fraud awareness initiatives across the business
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, industry representatives and other financial institutions
  • Assist with managing the relationship with third party providers

What you will bring to the team

  • Proven relevant experience in a Fraud Investigation, Risk or Assurance role (3-5 years), preferably in a financial services environment.
  • A proven track history in the carrying out of complex investigations.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of processes involved in the investigation and analysis of fraud risk management.
  • An understanding of monitoring, assessment and actioning of fraud detection tool alerts.
  • A working knowledge of common law as it relates to fraud related activities desirable.
  • Extensive experience/knowledge of the financial services industry as well as staff/customer contact.
